In the beginning of this year, The VR Hive began working with institutions like; NHS, UHI, and Lakes College. While working with these companies and institutions, we began to create two interactive 360 videos for training nurses. The experiences created were about; how to deal with difficult conversations including terminally ill patients, and those with schizophrenia.
Additionally we also received the Living Wage Accreditation, for meeting the requirements of paying every employee at/or above the "real cost of living" which currently, is around £9.90/h.
360 Filming ClientsQ1 2022
We set out to create a VR experience, with which we would allow for users to train in house visits. By creating a virtual space and creating a system in which choices impact the outcome. We would be able to create a safe, realistic training area that would unquestionably be of great benefit to the medical sector.
After the completion of this project, a research paper was written based on this experience, which touched on the user experience and knowledge retention of students who used this experience. It was written by Marco Gilardi at UWS in Paisley.
